I have been studying up lately to get the last few details of correctly establishing a small business in Minnesota ironed out. There are state and federal tax implications, possible licensing and zoning issues, financial reports and record keeping plus a whole host of other “regular” business necessities. At the top of this last list is a comprehensive Business Plan; which I will be digging into soon.
I attended a nice class last weekend entitled “Going Into Business”. The class was sponsored by SCORE Minneapolis (a group of volunteer current or retired business owners, bankers, etc who specialize in assisting small business start-ups… at little or no cost). I will be going to a few more such classes in the coming months, including one on writing effective Business Plans. Very illuminating stuff. There is a lot to learn about…
